The first burial at Prospect Cemetery was in about 1812. There are over 2000 graves. This is according to the Vermont Old Cemetery Association. Isn’t that a beautiful gated entrance? It says both hello and goodbye in a stately manner. Let’s walk a portion of this cemetery to pay our respects to those who cameContinue reading “Walking Prospect Cemetery”

A-Building Clean-Up at Burlington High School
I decided to check on the progress of the A-Building demolition to see if they had finished the job. What I saw instead were 5 excavators on top the rubble moving pieces from one pile to another. It appears there is still a TON of work for them to do! I’m glad there’s rain inContinue reading “A-Building Clean-Up at Burlington High School”
A Building Rubble
I have been visiting my old school, BHS, to see how the demolition is advancing. Well, practically all of A Building has been demolished. It’s not completely gone, though. It appears some classrooms are still defiant. And admittedly, I’m glad. I understand it needs to come down. My inner child is giggling, though. The expectationContinue reading “A Building Rubble”
My Patio Garden
I grow flowers, strawberries, cherry tomatoes and usually jalapeños in my patio garden each year. I mistakenly purchased serrano peppers. They are HOTTER than jalapeños! I hope my mouth can handle them! I am very much looking forward to enjoying the tomatoes and strawberries. It’s fun to come home to eat a handful of tomatoesContinue reading “My Patio Garden”
Burlington High School: Demolition Continues…
I wanted to see if A Building had been completely demolished. That had been the goal for the Saturday work crew. Although the auditorium is now rubble, there’s still portions of A Building still standing. Note the logo on the beam: Vermont Structural Steel Corp. How cool is that???
My New Cat: Lincoln!
https://youtube.com/shorts/Hsgnz6EUORE?feature=share Two friends texted me a couple of days ago. “Did you see this???” It was an article on a bunch of hoarded cats in Monkton, Vermont, which had been saved by Queen City Cats VT. I had not. I looked at their website, http://www.queencitycatsvt.org. They had some adorable cats available, including this guy. IContinue reading “My New Cat: Lincoln!”
More Burlington High School Demolition
According to the Burlington School District, they expect the demolition to be completed very soon. A Building may be completely demolished by Saturday afternoon. That’s wild, but very likely doable. As you’ll see both in the video and photos, those machines have wreaked a ton of havoc already. And that’s what they’re supposed to do.Continue reading “More Burlington High School Demolition”
Volvo Excavator on the Go!
https://youtube.com/shorts/wz-SNzxjmRk?feature=share As Burlington High School is being demolished, I followed this excavator with my camera. I enjoyed watching it roll over the sidewalk with ease. As I filmed, there were multiple groups of students walking up from North Beach, which is at the end of Institute Road. I had to keep pausing the video, soContinue reading “Volvo Excavator on the Go!”
Mower Gets Stuck!
I never tire of watching the landscaping crew cut the grass. The way those front wheels kept bouncing up off the ground, I wondered if that Hustler HyperDrive lawnmower were going to pitch backwards. Seeing the mower get stuck was surprising and funny!
