Timothy T. Durfey was born in 1836 in Lincoln, Vermont. At the age of 27, he enlisted in the Union Army on August 5, 1862. He mustered in on September 1, 1862 as a Private in Company B with the 11th Vermont Infantry. Durfey mustered out on June 24, 1865.

He applied for a pension on August 20, 1879. He received it until his death on January 24, 1893. His widow, Eliza J., applied for it on May 15, 1893. She would have received it until her death.

“EAST MIDDLEBURY
Timothy Durphey, a veteran of the war, died quite suddenly on Tuesday morning at 3 o’clock. He had been sick but a few days, and was about the house on Saturday and Sunday. He leaves a wife and seven children. His age was 57 years.”
