I have been visiting my old school, BHS, to see how the demolition is advancing. Well, practically all of A Building has been demolished. It’s not completely gone, though. It appears some classrooms are still defiant. And admittedly, I’m glad. I understand it needs to come down. My inner child is giggling, though.
The expectation of the Burlington School District was A Building would be completely down by Saturday. I filmed on Saturday. There were still workers on-site and the area I mentioned above was still there, as they left.
Something I am curious about is why there is a separation of construction rubble. Burlington High School is contaminated with PCB’s, which are cancer-causing agents. It’s the reason BHS is being demolished. So, why isn’t everything going to the dump that allows contaminated items? If anyone knows, please comment.
