I’m sorry to say that Sargie’s Health has taken a turn for the worse. It’s a bad sign when a cat’s behavior changes. Sargie has always met me in the kitchen. And I mean ALWAYS!
I returned home the other night. There was no Sargie. I looked around for him. He was sleeping on my pillow. And even then, he did not greet me.
It took him another 1.5 hours to approach me. In the meantime, I had washed, dried and folded laundry. Really terrible.
I know that behavioral changes are signs that kidney failure is worsening. So, I called and left a message for the vet.
The vet tech called the next day. We agreed it wasn’t time, yet, to put him down. And I’m glad of that. But, I also know his time with me is coming to an end sooner rather than later.
I explained to her I’d been on the internet looking for a miracle. I found some kind of herbal treatment for cats. So, I asked if such a thing actually worked. Hesitantly, she told me not to spend the money on it. Since I tend to be cynical about products such as these, I agreed.
Understand that I want Sargie to have a good quality of life. I don’t want to prolong his life, just to satisfy my desire to have him around. It’s not about that. Never has been, either.
