LaPorte Cemetery in Morristown, Vermont: Part 1

I was driving to Wolcott, Vermont earlier this week. As I drove through Morristown, I saw the LaPorte Cemetery and thought to myself, “I must stop on my way back.” And that was because I absolutely LOVED the entrance signage!

Today’s video is Part 1 of 2 of this small and lovely cemetery.

This cemetery appeared to be well-cared for. I found one broken headstone, which had been repaired. What’s not to love about that?

The cemetery is bound on one side by a ravine. So many cemeteries I have visited are plagued by ravines. None of the graves is currently close. I hope it remains so.

LaPorte Cemetery was established in 1815 and has 150 plots.

Such an amazing entrance sign!
