Gorge Substation #16 in Colchester, VT

After I finished visiting St. Stephen’s Cemetery, I opted to drive to the end of Gorge Rd.  It changes from Winooski to Colchester, VT, by the way.  And what greeted me?  Gorge Substation #16!  Link here: https://youtu.be/fTVPtHAtzGQ. It’s not on Google Maps!  Google Maps shows the road as a cul-de-sac.  Heck no!  I could turn around before I got to the substation, but could not drive around it.

I did see and film a bit of the railroad bridge that’s to the left of the substation, too.  So cool!!

This was one of the coolest places I’ve filmed yet and I didn’t even know it existed!  In the description below, there is a longer explanation of what a substation does.  Essentially, it converts high voltage electricity into the lower voltage electricity buildings use.

Gorge Substation #16 with a wonderful railroad bridge, too!
