Resurrection Park, Part 2:  the Largest Catholic Cemetery in Vermont!

Greetings All!  This is Patricia and I am Traveling for History!

Today’s video is Part 2 of my visit to Resurrection Park, the largest Catholic Cemetery in Vermont.  Link here:

This is where the Bishops are buried.  Their bodies were re-interred from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception to Resurrection Park.  Everyone from Bishop Degoesbriand to the present day Bishop, whose birth date is already engraved, has been (or will be) buried there.

It is also in Part 2 where I find the grave of the one person I knew was buried there and did not want to find.  We’re talking about a needle in a haystack!  And yet, there he was.  It’s been 18 years.  Seeing his grave brought it all back.  You’ll certainly hear the emotion in my voice.

It’s so odd.  I use the pause button often.  I pause for traffic, I pause for inconsiderate humans who are swearing when they see I’m recording, I pause for airplanes as well.  Yet, I never once thought of it as I was talking about him.

I knew Jason. He was a cute, rambunctious, fun and funny kid. Even 18 years later, I find it hard to believe he’s not still with us. Who would he have become? 21 is just too young to die.
I wonder what the story is behind that poem…
One of the many child graves.
In the rear of the Pizzagalli burial plot.
Close-up of the kissing cherubs.
Such beautiful detail!
