I filmed today’s video at Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier, VT. Typically, I’ve seen a variety of repairs to broken headstones. And that made me happy. “Perpetual Care” should, indeed, be eternal. (Green Mount charges an extra $800 for that because they still allow internments. If they are going to charge an extra fee for perpetual care, it should be a forever service.)
And then…I saw THIS monument! If you go looking for it, it’s about in the center or center right. You really can’t miss it! I sure hope this is merely a quick fix! Given what I’ve seen so far, I think it will be. That board has not weathered; so, it’s not been there too long.
The monument is metal and textured to feel like stone. The only actual stone part was the very low base. I did not capture that on the recording because it was well hidden under the grass. When I was snapping photos was when I noticed it.
